Join the Region G Housing
Forward Initiative

Housing Forward believes progress happens when people take aligned action. The Regional Housing Partnership creates a way for local leaders, professionals, and residents to contribute time, insight, and expertise to real housing outcomes.

Help Shape Housing Outcomes
in Your Community

There are three ways to get involved:

Volunteer with the Regional
Housing Partnership

Housing Forward serves as the administrative lead for the Region G Regional Housing Partnership, selected by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority. The partnership was created in response to Michigan’s first statewide housing plan and is one of fifteen regional partnerships advancing local implementation across the state.

Region G brings together stakeholders to align strategies, set regional priorities, and support attainable housing across Arenac, Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella, Midland, and Saginaw counties.

Volunteers play a critical role in this work. The Regional Housing Partnership operates through three active committees. Each committee focuses on a specific part of the housing system and supports implementation of the regional action plan.

Housing Ecosystem Committee

This committee focuses on strengthening collaboration across the housing system. The work centers on improving coordination, talent development, and data sharing among local nonprofits, local units of government, lenders, developers, employers, and state agencies. The goal is to increase the region’s capacity to build, maintain, and support housing through a more connected and effective network.

Housing Stock Committee

This committee focuses on increasing and improving the supply of housing. The work includes development, rehabilitation, and preservation of housing across rural, urban, and suburban communities. Priority areas include housing diversity, location near essential services, environmental sustainability, and long term stability of the housing stock.

Communication & Education Committee

Volunteer with Region G Housing Forward Communication and Education Committee

This committee works to increase public understanding of housing needs, housing rights, and available resources. The focus is on promoting fair housing, addressing misconceptions, and expanding access to clear information. This work helps build public support and empowers residents on the path to financial stability and homeownership.

Volunteers may serve on one or more committees based on interest and expertise. Participation includes meetings, short term work groups, and project based contributions. This is working committee service, not advisory only.
